As race season is in full swing, you may have already done a handful of triathlons, time trials, and are perhaps fine-tuning for your "A" race. Typically, refining cycling form and mechanics should be done in the spring, as you transition back to the road from indoor cycling. But, there's never a wrong time to dial in your cycling form. Try these drills on the trainer to condition your muscles as well as improve your form and race pacing on the bike.

The fastest endurance runners share the many of the same run mechanics and characteristics. Examine photographs of great distance runners and you will see similarities in their running form. Breaking down these characteristics and applying them to your running will make you run faster and more efficiently.

Say you're about to head out for a ride or run, reach into the cupboard for nutrition, and find that you're out of sports drink and/or bars and gels. While this scenario seems problematic, it's really not an issue with a moderately stocked pantry. In fact, this situation might be a bit of a wake-up call in regards to your training and race nutrition.

On February 1, 2012 invitations were emailed out to 35 out of 75 applicants for this year’s addition of Ultraman Canada, which takes place the first weekend of August in Penticton, British Columbia.

Ultraman is a three-day, 320-mile triathlon that offers no prize money, little media coverage, and no podium. Each athlete, first place to last place is treated the same. Just finishing in Canada qualifies the athlete for a shot at the World Ultraman Championship in Hawaii.
Warming-up prior to a race, let alone a training session, is incredibly important. After all, if your muscles are not warm and loose, it should come as no surprise that the subsequent performance will not measure up to par. Not to mention proper warm-up is necessary for injury prevention tactics. However, there are the races that don’t allow for warm-up swimming for one reason or another; the Ironman 70.3 Oceanside and Escape from Alcatraz are good examples.
